Bringing Home the Fuzzies

Ahh sorry for my lack of posts lately. I've been very busy.

As all of you who follow this blog know I've been very excited over the past few weeks about getting my little ferret kits. Well yesterday i got them. They are everything i thought they were going to be and more! Cute, funny, sleepy, fighty, git-ey and sometimes even a little nippy.

Yesterday I traveled all the way to Melton Mowbray (Leicester) to get them. I was quite proud i made it there in one piece to be honest. I have the worst direction sense ever. On the way back i put them in a little travel case that i had filled with fleecy fabric scraps from the hammock and bag that i made for them. As soon as i put them in the case they burrowed deep inside it and fell soundly asleep.
Although they did sleep most of the way home a train went past and scared poor lil Squiff, but he burrowed deeper and quickly fell back to sleep. I couldn't wait to get them home and play with them and introduce them to their new home.

I have to say though the travel case and them inside it are a real attention attractor, loads of people on the trains i got were asking me things about them, how old, what were they, why ferrets?

But anyway, when i finally got them home they were so nervous i think when they were first exploring their new enviroments... Drew was even scared by the toy i got him (I've named it White Goodman)..He let of a lil stink bomb and believe me ... it does whiff a bit. Speaking of smell, I've now learned what odour everyone was talking about... it isn't particuary a bad smell, its just a bit musky, it is no worse than the smell of a rabbit or a hamster.  

Anyways here i some pictures taken last night; (I have more, better quality pictures but they're on an SD card so unfortunately i can't get them off till Tuesday.)

And Finally here they are playing together. Yes, they are the same cuteys... But when they are awake they are gits! Love them though! <3

Good Ferret Information

Through my research into getting a ferret I have took down a list of good and helpful ferret sites and books from Ferret Care to Ferret Shopping.

Here are a few of the good Ferret Care sources of information:

• Ferrets for Dummies (Book): Amazon 

I rate this book 5 dooks! It is very helpful, me and my boyfriend learned a lot about ferrets from this book. It has pretty much all you need to know about their history, habits to caring for and even training the ferrets. 

• The Essential Ferret  (Book): Amazon

I liked this book mostly for the really cute pictures that are included inside. As for information it is okay, but i wouldn't say as good as the Ferrets for Dummies book so for that i give this book 3 dooks! 

• Ferret Dooking (FB group): Ferret Dooking, Facebook  (Like it!)

I really like this facebook group because it has lots of stories about our fuzzie friends, and is very active. I like the way you can post pictures and bios of our ferrets. There are lots of really cute and touching stories. But another quality i like about this site is that you can ask questions about ferrets and because most of the people in the group, are themselves ferret owners they can help you. 5 Dooks!

• Ferret-World : 

Ferret-World Website  Ferret World, Facebook
  This is another good site, both the website and the facebook group are very helpful for any queries to do with ferrets. The facebook group especially has so many cute pictures of ferrets. The site has a lot of information that i initially looked at but i think for more personal questions about ferrets the facebook group just like Ferret Dooking has lots of ferret owners that will probably know a lot of things about ferrets, i constantly learn new things about ferrets from the facebook site. I would deffinately recommend to people to take a look especially new ferret owners. 5 Dooks!

• Ferret Couture: Ferret Fashion Site

This site at the moment is currently under maintainance so you can't order anything off it at the moment, but when it is up and running again I would deffinately say it is the leading ferret clothes shop on the net at the moment. It sells everything you can think of from leashes, harnesses, clothing to carry cases, vitamins and bathing products. I really like all the items in this store....

 So that's all i can think of at the moment... I'm sure i have used many, many more sites and i have a few books on the way for more fuzzy reading but if any of you readers have any more sites that you know are good for information, i would be very interested in adding it to my short list of good ferret information. The Lil Fuzz Balls!

Just keeping everyone up to date on the ferret front, yesterday I received a few more pictures of my little cuteys! I can't believe it is only a few days now until I get them! It seems only a few weeks ago that my plan to get them was just simple idea, and it was very unlikely that I was going to get them. But now... it's just a few days away, in a way it seems ages ago since February when this idea was cooked up.

They are so cute now their eyes are open and yet again they look so different to what they first looked like... Drew has got so handsome and less camera shy.
As you can see from these pictures, i think that they both are going to get along just fine!:

Heathy?!

Hi Everyone!
So tomorrow i am starting my healthy diet for one month (maybe longer, if i can stand it), yes that's right no more of the lovely sweet snacks i enjoy nomming on everyday. I can see my 750 words becoming my daily whine spot..
So today's post is going to be about healthy snacks and what kind of things you need to include in your everyday meals to maintain a healthy balanced diet.

The basic rules are:

• Eat a variety of foods from each group, including at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.
• Base meals on starchy foods such as bread, pasta, rice or potatoes. Choose wholegrain varieties when possible.
• Eat smaller amounts of meat or other protein, choosing lower-fat versions when possible.
• Eat two portions of fish each week, one of which should be oily.
• Swap high-fat dairy foods, like full-fat milk and cheese, for lower-fat versions.
• Eat small amounts of fatty and sugary foods.
• Cut down on 'bad' saturated fats and replace with 'good' monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
• Eat less salt.
• Drink alcohol in moderation.

I got these from FloraHearts Article on eating healthy. There is also a tool on this site that allows you to check your heart age. The good thing is my heart's age is exactly the age I am. So that's good I guess.

At the moment though, im not cutting out  all unhealthy foods i am just replacing my usually sugary, high fat snacks and foods with fruits or vegetables.

I really like this dancer on Youtube, she is a korean dance teacher and I have always liked dance but when I went to my dance lessons i really hated the music that they danced to. I love korean music and so by change i came across Yolie, she does dances to popular korean songs and even does tutorials!

Anyone want to play a little game?

Just today I made up a little game with myself.... the game relies on yourself unless you're betting with someone else, which might actually be better for accountability...

The first thing you need to do is think of something you couldn't live without.. for me that would be makeup.. or sweets.. and then you say 1 month without it.

I might seem tough at first but trust me speaking from experience when you have done the whole month you actually want to carry on.

So yes after deciding the thing your going to give up, then decide the reward for yourself... such as a new pair of shoes, or for the richer person... a holiday or something more... something that you want so much that will motivate you. However if you fail, then there is a punishment! It has to be something you really hate... for example i despise charity to humans... so if i lose i give all the money i was going to spend on myself to charity... Or just £10... so if you lose you will feel like a big loser!

If your playing in 2's, the best way to play it is the other person decides what you give up and then the reward can be whatever they want! However the punishement is whatever the decider wants it to be and it can be a secret surprise.. or something like that...


For me...

Here is my contract that im writing so that everyone else can see if i am doing it or not...

I, Catushka Roze will not eat sweet, unhealthy things for 1 month starting Monday 23rd May till the 23rd of June. If I complete this task I will reward myself with the art pens that I want worth £20, if i fail to do the task i will donate the money to a human charity.

Cutest Eyes Ever!

Hi All!

My ferrets opened their eyes yesterday, I am very excited now! They are honestly the cutest little darlings in the world!

Squiff i think is the more photogenic one and i'm wondering if there is such a thing as ferret modelling or some thing like that and entering the cuteys. But i can't find anything on the net but if anyone has any iformation or know about any of that stuff, i'd appreciate it if you could tell me :)

I did find a ferret competition, but i don't like the idea of losing... But i know with my cuteys i'd win! :)

Oh yes i have decided on Drew for the sandy ferrets name so Squiff and Drew :) Cute ne?

They have grew so much in like just over a week since i last saw them! The colors have gotten more vibrant too. Squiff is even winking at the camera... the little camera whore... <3 Love them so much

Emily Autumn: Is the new style for me?

Okay, so i have done a lot of blogs today whilst im waiting for Luke at uni...and things keep making me want to blog more and more!

It's very addictive!

So yeah i was just on Vkonakte, which is russian facebook... listening to music... and i came accross some songs i used to be obsessed with... by Emily Autumn. I remembered she has a very unique and interesting style.. so i began to research her on the internet and thought i'd blog about her.



I find her music, a little odd, special, unique and the lyrics are full of obscenities and suicide and they make me laugh.

The lyrics in this song make me giggle so much and it is so catchy and different to other music i have listened to.

All her music is so different. :)

As for her style, it is really nice, and yes i would even say Lolita inspired and i think it is oddly cute.

I really love her makeup and i would love to try it... after lookig at her style on the last pictre i think it is even a little bit steam punk. Maybe this could be my new style? :) It is exactly what i wanted it to be... cute and cool....

Marchesa, better than Galliano??

I feel that i should be doing research into fashion a bit more... for my uni so i think that on here i will be posting some kind of trend updates that i have found via internet and magazines.

I dunno why but i always feel that trends are conforming into some kind of sheep-like state... do people actually want to be sheep is that why they follow trends?...

I'd rather stand out from the crowd and do the opposite of the trends rather than follow it... Does that make me any less of a fashion designer?...to want to be different? It does make me think...

Oh my, i just found a designer in my research that i actually think could be one of my new favourites up there with Galliano and Gareth Pugh....

They are called Marchesa, it is a brand-- i cant beleive i have never heard of them before...

 Really, really love this dress- the colors and the exaggeratedness is amazing...the more i look at it the more i am amazed.

How cool are these things?! I can kind of see some Japanese influence in it..

Adobe Illustrator for Beginners!

A year ago, i had never used Adobe Illustrator and was a pro on photoshop, since i came to university... my photoshop skills are still good but i have become awesome on Illustrator, i love it!
Here is some of my work that i have done on Adobe Illustrator:

These are just some that i did for fun for my facebook, they are quite sketchy. 

Illustrator is so accurate and easy to draw things in it, once you get the hang of it that is. At first i was like... nu uh! My advice is to persevere with it, it is deffinately one of those if at first you dont succeed try again times...

So i thought as it can be quite difficult sometimes especially to find a good tutorial, i thought maybe i ought to try making one...

This is my first time doing a tutorial so please any criticisms and questions will be great to help me improve and make better tutorials in the future. Ofcourse because im fairly new to illustrator myself i don't know everything! I'm not that much of a pro. But when if and when i do learn something new..  i'll deffinately blog about it.

So okay firstly i'll blog about the basics of Illustrator... the tools. I am using CS5 Adobe Illustrator, so i apologize if my diagrams look different to yours if your using another CS.

Project: Restyle Myself!

So, I'm bored of my look at the moment... Well i have been for a while now if i'm honest... I did try to dye my hair 'Macaroon Strawberry' Color from Palty's hair dye that i imported from Japan.... but the color faded really quickly leaving me with light brown hair, so my attempt to be a new me failed and left me even more bored and dissapointed!

So This post is going to show me brain storming some of my ideas for a new, better more stylish me!



So first I thought i'd start with hairtyle... I can't decide long or short....but i know which color i deffinately want!
This Color:

That is the color i originally wanted from Macaroon Strawberry and i don't understand why it didnt work!
This was the color it was meant to go... I think it is similar to Gdragon's hair color.

Although I was dissapointed with the results of Palty hair color, i really liked the product it smelled nice compared to most hair dyes (like berries!) and it came with like this little brush applicator!

So now i have decided on hair color, now to a more... difficult decision... Hairstyle...
Long... Short... Long... Short....Ugh!! My hair is at that legnth where if i get it cut short it isnt much to lose but if i let it get any longer... i have to keep it long! >_<

Hmmmmmm.... I was thinking maybe long at the front and short at the back of my hair...Looking to anime for inspiration haha! I kinda like Kagamine Rin's hair from Vocaloids... Its short... but cute.... I want to accessorise it quite a lot...

Okay so tonight i did a little research into cute japanese hairstyles... :3 i think i found one that i like... well a mixture of things really..
Here's my moodboard:

The one with the blue arrow is the fringe i like, i think the thick straight fringe and bangs will frame my face nicely, plus im fed up of my boring side sweepy fringe!

Now i like the long hair in the top right hand corner but... i think i want to have shorter hair than that... not sure just yet!

Dooking Hell They're Cute!

Today I went to pick 2 ferret kits and boy was i in for the biggest shock ever! They were the most cutest things i have ever seen in my entire life....Even cuter than Pandas!

I mean I have seen Ferret kit pictures before but i must say the pictures don't do the kits justice they are 100 x more cuter in real life...I'm quite jealous that ferret breeders get to see them at one of their cutest times!

So yeah these are my 2 baby boys now, well in 2 weeks when I  get to pick them up! I really can't wait now!

Awh they were just so cute, they were squiggling around making the cutest ever noises.. they still havent opened their eyes yet so its quite hard to imagine that these little innocent cuteys are going to grow to be little micheivous devils!

One thing I never really noticed about Jills is that they are considerably smaller than hobs. I prefer the hobs because they are so much bigger and fluffier! 

The mommy of my 2 boys bit me though because she was being over protective of her little babies, i mean who can blame her she must know i have come to take over her role :( It must be quite sad for her... but i wonder if they feel sad about it or anything.

Pastel Makeup!

At the moment I am really feeling pastel colors! I was flicking through Elle the other day and there was a page just for makeup and i realised how good pastel colors look!

 

This is a picture i found on the net of Pastel color eyes (bottom left corner) How lovely do those eyes look?! I've done a whole 2 pages of collage of them in my influence book. I think they would look really good on a photoshoot because the paleness of the pastel really opens up the eyes making them look bigger, I think that with some white eyeliner on the bottom lid will look amazing!

I'm gonna buy some pastel makeup and practice!!

I particulary like the color of the blue on the models eyes because it is bright and vibrant yet also pastel colored. I think that blue would suit me quite well because of my blue eyes. 

Live Mocha

Okay, so as i mentioned in my short introduction that i like to learn languages-- one of them being Japanese. I thought i'd take this chance to explain how i do that.

This website is called Live Mocha, it is basically a language exchange site, it has really good exercises: Reading, Listening, Talking etc, and basically say you're learning Spanish, someone who is fluent in Spanish will mark your exercises and give you helpful tips on how you can improve. People also request for you to mark their work and then it goes on and on-- the easiest way to explain it is that it is a language exchange.

I, personally think this is one of the best FREE language learning sites there are on the web and believe me i have tried out many, many language learning sites!

Fuzzy : Thats a Ferret FYI!

I'm getting a ferret in a few weeks! I really can't wait to get him/her, I haven't decided what gender i want--I kind of want to dress my ferret up in clothes that match me, so technically I would have to get a Jill (girl ferret)-- although the idea of a crossdressing Hob (boy ferret) is tempting!

I have this idea to make clothes and sell them on ebay-- i haven't set up my store yet but if any of you readers want some custom made ferret clothes, i'll post my link on here (when i make one that is!).
I'm thinking of also maybe doing dog clothing too, we'll see how that turns out!

I've been thinking on names for my ferret recently, i guess i can't really decide on one since i am not sure what gender i'm getting and it also depends on the ferret's personality, doesn't it?
The name i have taken a liking to is Squiff... many of my family members don't really like this name but i think it is very cute!

Many people say ferrets stink, but don't all animals?? Even humans pong just we choose to mask it with flowery perfumes and stuff! So i'm not really bothered about that so much.

I bought  cage from ebay the other day, it was amazing! It cost me £45, free delivery and by the next day it was waiting for me when i got home from university. So for anyone buying cages or anything from ebay i deffinately recommend before splashing out on £89.99 for a cage, check out ebay first!

Zhao Bandi: My Panda Love!

As you have probably guessed from the background of my blog that I like pandas! Well you're wrong!! I love them!
They are my favorite animal in the whole world just look at them!

They're so cute, it is such a shame they will be extinct soon.  I will miss them so much- I really want to see one before they do become extinct though, that is one of my goals!

So yeah anyways, being the panda obsessive that I am, I was searching online for panda fashion and i came across the best fashion collection ever. The designer is Zhao Bandi- who like me loves pandas.

I like how he has put the panda in everyday people's situations such as; school girl, teacher, police, nurse -- a wide variety of people and they are all dressed in black and white and have panda eyes and ears!
Every time i watch this video i just get more amazed at how awesome it is!
