English Grammar 2 (Progressive Tenses)

Okay here is part 2 of 4 of my English Grammar... this one is all about progressive tenses...

Again if anyone knows a good way of memorising these tenses please tell me! I have also decided i am going to take my grammar test on the 20th of May and I need to get more than 85% to beat my boyfriends score!

Okay so progressive tenses, a little harder than the simple ones....

Past Progressive : Is used to talk about something that happened at a specific time in the past.

Subject +was/were+ -ing form of verb + compliment.

Examples:

I was swimming yesterday afternoon.
You were laughing at that joke I told earlier.
I was having an amazing dream, when I woke up.

Present Progressive: Is used to talk about an action that is taking place at the moment of speaking.

Subject + to be +  -ing form of verb

Examples:

I am currently writing a blog.
She is dancing right now.
We are watching a movie at the moment, I can't talk to you.

Future Progressive: Used to talk about something that will be in progress in the future.

Subject + will be + present participle (base verb + -ing)

Examples:

I will be leaving soon.
You won't be going to school tomorrow.
I will be see my brother next week.

Aaand that's all for this post's grammar ... Next time is Perfect tenses~ much more harder I think than these ones!

Until Next Time!

So as i haven't yet told you, i am going to Japan to teach English!! I'm so excited I seem to have forgotten that i have to pass the TEFL course to be able to go do it haha.

This post is really just for me, but you can read it if you like, i don't really mind. It is just me studying for my Grammar test.

So if you are interested in learning the 12 Tenses of English Grammar then read on!!

Simple Tenses

Simple Past: Is used to talk about a completed action or condition...

subject + verb in past tense + compliment.

examples:

I am currently watching a video, I can't talk to you.
I am writing a bog post right now.
I post a blog post every week.

Simple Future: Is used to talk about something that will or might happen in the future, we use 'will' to talk about something that is unplanned or predicted. We use 'going to' to talk about something that is a planned future event.

Subject +will/going to +bare infinitive +compliment

'Will' Example:

I will hit you!
The plane will land in the next 20 minuites.
She will be going to Japan later in the year.

Going To Example:

Trying to remember these I think is easy ...It's the other tenses I seem to forget.

A New leaf

Today I went to see my lecturer and had a good talk to her about the course and you know what I feel like a lot more confident about the course and about my own skills, I just need to catch up with everything.

So spring is here, new year, new attitude and hopefully better grades.

Here's what I did today on my Olympic module.

Just to explain the pictures are of some current sportswear trends and also me looking at barbell weights for inspiration. I think that I might actually make an outfit weight based. A human weight haha.

Class time at Uni (thoughts)

So I'm at Uni right now waiting for the lesson to start, it's a bit boring, especially as I know how much work I must do for tomorrow.

I promises myself this won't happen again yet still I'm in he same predicament...

I feel like I can't cope with Uni and also a job where in my spare time, the only time I have for Uni and myself I have to work. I hate it.

I can't wait to go to Japan but I can't go to Japan without my degree so this time. I need to prove myself to Luke and also myself and to Ann and Fiona.

What have I learned in this lesson so far. Nothing. As per usual. I'm learning nothing on this course. It's a waste of my time and money. I realised this is fashion studies and not fashion design ...
